WELL™ Salutes the U.S. News Best Hospitals 2021-22 Honor Roll

Since 1985, U.S. News & World Report has been ranking America’s best hospitals for its annual U.S. News & World Report Best Hospitals Honor Roll. The list highlights the top 20 hospitals in the nation that were the highest-rated in various types of care, procedures, and conditions. The data in the 2021-22 Best Hospitals rankings was collected predating the COVID-19 pandemic so these rankings were not affected by the pandemic’s impact on hospitals.

Over 5,000 hospitals were evaluated for their treatment of seven chronic conditions, and performance on up to 10 medical procedures. Points also were given to the hospitals that were nationally ranked in 15 specialties. These ratings and rankings are based on patient outcomes for each hospital (how well patients did after treatment), in addition to factors such as the quality of the patient experience and whether the hospital has adequate staff.

To qualify for this list, the medical center or hospital also needed to meet one of the following criteria: be affiliated with a medical school, have a teaching hospital, houses 200 or more staffed beds, or have at least 100 beds and offers at least four out of eight technological advances associated with high-quality care such as specific precision radiation therapies and a PET/CT Scanner.

WELL™ Health congratulates all of the nominees and is especially proud of our valued clients who were named to the prestigious 2021-2022 Honor Roll:

#6-Cedars-Sinai Medical Center (Los Angeles, CA)

#8-NYU Langone Hospitals (New York City)

#16-Houston Methodist Hospital (Houston, TX)

#20-Vanderbilt University Medical Center (Nashville, Tenn.)

Each year, U.S. News also recognizes the top 10 Best Children’s Hospitals in the U.S. for their performance across ten pediatric specialties. To determine the rankings for the Best Children’s Hospitals 2021-22 Honor Roll, a clinical survey was sent to 183 hospitals in addition to a reputational survey that was sent to pediatric specialists and subspecialists. The ranking categories included specialties such as neonatology, diabetes, oncology, cardiology, and others. This year for the first time, U.S. News also ranked the No. 1 hospital in seven multi-state regions.

WELL congratulates our client, Texas Children’s Hospital, Houston who ranked number three on the Best Children’s Hospitals 2021-22 Honor Roll. In the Regional Rankings, Texas Children’s Hospital, Houston was named the number one hospital in the Southwest. A bronze and gold medal!
