Jon Matteson is an Account Manager at WELL™ Health and works alongside clients to help them maximize the value of WELL after onboarding and integration. Jon shares more about himself, his passions, and his career below.
How is an Account Manager essential for helping healthcare providers improve patient communications?
After clients are fully onboarded, my role is to strategize with them on how to use WELL as efficiently as possible. I share with my clients new and existing use cases and work with them to discuss new innovative solutions that work well with their EMR. I also host a bi-monthly webinar with fellow Account Manager, Blake Cain called “WELL Office Hours,” where we talk about successful WELL use cases with our clients.
What is your favorite part about working at WELL?
It’s fun and exciting for me to learn about a client’s goals and partner with them on use cases that they didn’t know WELL could solve.
What made you decide to work at WELL?
At my previous job, I learned how to build partnerships with customers so we could work together to solve challenges. This experience translated easily to my current position at WELL.
What is one value at WELL that you resonate with the most and why?
“Deliver with Passion” is my favorite value because I believe that it is extremely important when it comes to building a trusting relationship with clients. Account Managers deliver with passion by responding to clients quickly and being sincere and transparent in every interaction with a client.
How do you think the Account Manager role will assist you with your professional development?
With various clients across different regions who have different needs, there’s a multitude of new challenges that I’m learning how to solve for. Being able to find solutions allows me to build more experience, and therefore assist with my professional development.
Tell us about your experience as an actor.
I’ve been a working actor in Chicago and now in LA for over 10 years. I’ve worked on cruise ships with Second City, had spots on TV, commercials, and on Chicago Fire. If you watch Season 6, Episode 6 of Chicago Fire, you will see me as an HR employee. I came to Los Angeles to continue working with Starkid, a company that has produced a lot of successful live musicals and on Youtube. I was fortunate enough to star in “The Guy Who Didn’t Like Musicals.” Check it out!

Who is one actor that reminds you of yourself?
An actor that I really admire that other people have said that I remind them of is Jimmy Stewart. People think I look like him or act like him sometimes. I also looked up to Gene Wilder as he is very sincere and emotional. Those are my two favorites, but there are a lot of actors that I admire.
Who is one fictional character that you identify the most with?
I read a lot of fantasy and science fiction novels; my favorite fantasy novel is The Name of the Wind. I identify with the main character – everyone wants to be the hero of their own story! It’s the only book that I’ve ever picked up where I read it in three days and woke up at 6 am without an alarm to keep reading it.
If you could give advice to your younger self, what would it be?
Stress less and relax more because everything’s going to be okay.
If you could know the absolute truth to one question, what question would you ask?
“What is the best way to spend your hours each day and feel fulfilled and at peace?” If I knew the absolute truth to this question, I would do whatever the answer is.♥
