WELL™ Health excitedly debuted our new functionality, ChatAssist AI at the 2021 Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Global Conference held on August 10th, 11th, and 12th in Las Vegas. Although there was a lower attendance rate due to the recent surge of Delta variant outbreaks, less foot traffic meant our WELL team had more quality one-on-one time to spend with current customers and conference attendees. We were especially glad to connect in person with current clients such as Dayton’s Children’s Hospital and Community Memorial Health System, who both used WELL for various patient and vaccine communications during the COVID-19 crisis.
WELL Health’s CEO and Founder, Guillaume de Zwirek, had a series of discussions with healthcare providers and heard from many that the digital health ecosystem is crowded, hard to navigate, and as a result, the patient experience is suffering. He said, “My vision for WELL Health is to streamline the complex healthcare journey and its many communications touchpoints to produce a seamless patient experience. One-on-one time with our customers is crucial to understanding the nuances and delivering on that vision.”
Interest in ChatAssist AI, an enhancement to the WELL platform that upgrades patient interactions from simple automation to AI-enabled conversations, was especially high. Our sales engineering team provided in-person demonstrations of the WELL platform and ChatAssist AI at the booth. For attendees who didn’t have time for a ChatAssist AI demo at the booth, they were given takeaway demo cards with information to text hashtags #presurgery or #telehealth that would lead them through an example ChatAssist AI workflow and provide links to informational resources. This way, people could play with the demo and learn more about the new functionality when they had the time. Our team also discussed ChatAssist AI use cases, in particular, the positive experiences of our client, Sansum Clinic who piloted ChatAssist AI to great success.
The team reported the response to ChatAssist AI was very positive. Attendees often commented that they had never seen automated conversations executed so intuitively. What makes ChatAssist AI so powerful versus traditional chatbot systems is that it is self-service, patient-friendly, and supported by the core WELL conversational text functionality.
Overall, our WELL representatives felt a good momentum was created from HIMSS 2021, the first healthcare industry in-person conference since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. WELL™ is looking forward to participating in the 2021 HLTH conference in Boston from October 17th to October 20th to introduce new product offerings.
